She made her debut as a singer when she released her single Obsessed in 2021. The single peaked at number four on New Zealand Hot Singles chart and was the sixth-most trending video on YouTube on the day of its release. Addison Rae has also received nominations at prestigious ceremonies, such as People’s Choice Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards, and Kids’ Choice Awards.
Addison Rae was also exposed to social media at a young age as her parents have their own TikTok accounts; while her mother’s account has gathered 13 million followers, her father has five million followers on TikTok. Rae started using Instagram when she was 14 years old, posting her first Instagram picture in October 2014. After graduating from high school, she went on to attend Louisiana State University where she chose to study sports broadcasting. However, she dropped out of the university and moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue a career on social media.
